2-Day Workshop

Kurinuki and Surface Textures

I will be hosting a 2-day in-person workshop in my studio in Wilmington, NC, demonstrating the techniques I use when creating my Kurinuki cups alongside various other texturing methods. I will go in depth on the tools and materials I use to create these works from start to finish, helping students learn to achieve rich and varied surfaces.

Information and techniques will include:

-All materials and tools including clays and additives and where to get them.

-How to make your own custom “grog”

-The process for making Kurinuki cups, start to finish.

-The making of various kinds of textured mugs and pots including my signature “Lava” mugs and slip textured works.

I will be answering questions live, during the demonstrations to provide insights into any and all aspects of the process.

Open to all levels of experience.
